Product Development

This service is where your idea becomes reality. We have the experience to translate your idea into physical form. We can help you identify the challenges and estimate the costs to take your product to market. Leverage our experience and capability to reach your goals.

We are not currently seeking new clients as we are at capacity.

On-Demand and one-off engineering projects can be started after the initial consultation as these usually take less time to review.

Our integrated design and prototyping service allows a shorter development cycle than traditional outsourced solutions. This means lower cost for you, as we can transition smoothly between any of the services we offer, and we can design the project around those services. If the project needs a service we don't provide, our network of suppliers will be able to assist.

This service also covers prototype refinement, one-off or low quantity specialized components, and solving problems that require more time or resources than you have available. These smaller jobs can usually be started with just a couple of days advance notice and NET-30 or NET-45 rates can be negotiated. We are happy to accept purchase orders for customers who expect to need services in the future but are not certain of the timeline. This flexibility allows your company to call on our services as needed.

Product Development projects go through the following steps:
  • Initial consultation. We will meet with you complete a non-disclosure agreement and to go over the idea you have. This meeting will give you a chance to get to know who you are working with and will give us the information needed to determine if we can assist you. This meeting can be done in person or remotely via phone or online meeting.
  • Project Quote. We will develop a quote from the information provided during the initial consultation. The quote will detail the steps required for your project. If you want to develop a product for example, the quote will cover the initial research, creating the design, prototyping the design, and finalizing the information package to be provided to your manufacturer. If you don't have a manufacturer, we may be able to assist with that also. The quote includes a price and timeline estimate and the terms and conditions of the project should you choose to accept. Most projects can be accepted on a per-task basis. This is helpful if you don't have a fixed deadline for the project and want to take it one step at a time.
  • Quote Acceptance. Once the quote meets your needs, you can accept the quote, which becomes the contract for the project.
  • Project Start! We will start making your idea come to life.
  • Project Reviews. This is your idea and your project, so we will want to get your feedback. This means we will provide status updates periodically. As with the initial consultation, this can be done in person or remotely.
  • Prototype Review and Delivery. This is where you see the physical form of your product for the first time, or review the refined design. This is a hands-on activity; if you aren't able to do an in person acceptance the prototype will be shipped to you. Depending on how we did, there may need to be a design iteration and another prototype based on your feedback.
  • Design Refinement. We may not get it perfect the first time. Any changes resulting from the prototype review(s) will be incorporated and a new prototype created as appropriate.
  • Final Delivery. The final prototype will be delivered, and the data package finalized. This includes all the digital and physical results of the project so that you have a record and all of the intellectual property generated by the project.
To start your project, please use our contact page and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
